ReplyDeleteDean Here! (again) While your visiting this site be sure and check out Mr. Frank Irving's exhibit too! It is not to be missed! I really must insist! I spoke to him, a few years back, (I doubt he'd remember), and he takes a very long time before cutting into a block of wood, he judges the grain and studies it to no end, to make sure the energy demanded by the action of his rocking chair, will be withstood by the structure. I was in awe of the long grain running the entire length of his "rockers' floor rails", almost like nature intended the wood be shaped that way, all along. This piece definately has a "soul". The photo's don't do any justice, these things should always be seen "live". If you listen very-very carefully, they speak to you! No "pic" can do that! peace, out.
